I absolutely loved the dynamic between nyx and erebrus I was stunned to find that this was molly tullis’ bookĪnd well i think its suffice to say that our girl did not disappoint Hades and Poseidon - Legolas and Gimli vibes I just want to hang out in Hecates kitchen Powerful man behind an even more powerful woman. Love that Nyx is all powerful but happily dominated by Erebus in bed. Refreshing to follow a relationship with history (I.e. Now, for my usual brain dump/notes (which may contain slight spoilers):īest description of Hecate I’ve ever read I devoured this in less than 24 hours and am itching for book 2. And can we please bow down to the masterpiece that is chapter 38?!?! My heart broke, multiple times, but I also laughed, a lot. I absolutely relished in the elegance and humour of this world and story. The brotherly banter is in full force but I didn’t expect that to be laced with a bit of old lady crankiness and I tell you what… I AM HERE FOR IT! But a new level of dickhead you’re probably not prepared for. Hermes - just you wait for your own feelings on our favourite trickster. Hecate (O Terrifying One) - the initial description of the Goddess of Witchcraft is, by far, the best I’ve ever read and immediately had been obsessing over this version (I cannot wait for her book!) Not only is the depiction of Nyx and Erebus refreshing (Erebus’ playfulness will have you swooning right out of the gate) but the development of some of our other favourite characters is new and enchanting. ![]() Given the deep love I felt immediately for these two also meant that my heart was broken (for the first time) very quickly into the story. Yes I know the generally story of Nyx and Erebus but not in a huge level of detail. I am always shocked when an author can make me fall in love with a character or characters so soon into a story. “Do you think we should tell Zeus what happened in here or let him figure it out?” ![]() As Nyx and Erebus are divided on different sides of the struggle, their relationship is tested as well as the balance of night and day itself. He hatches a plan to take the throne from his father, Kronos, and bring down anyone who has the strength to defy him. Power hungry, a young Zeus lurks in the daylight, creating a cult of perception. He has watched their children - Thanatos, Hypnos, and Chiron - usher the souls of mankind through life and threatens to blanket the world in darkness when his family’s reputations begin to tarnish. The primordial God has spent thousands of years amplifying Nyx and the powers of the night, acting as the final knell to her command. Once respected for the balance and duality that she brought to the world, and the haven she created in Tartarus, the rise of the gods has brought the Goddess of Night’s influence into question.īeside her, Erebus, the God of Darkness, grows restless. Her power encapsulated the night and all its secrets - where nothing goes unseen. Before the age of gods and men, the most ancient of the immortals, Nyx, pulled herself into creation.
